AMSC announced today that it has licensed its proprietary WT1650 wind turbine design to Model Enerji Ltd., Turkey's first megawatt-class wind turbine manufacturer. Under the terms of the contract, Model Enerji has exclusive rights to manufacture, sell, install, operate and maintain the WT1650 in Turkey and has non-exclusive rights for surrounding Mediterranean and Eastern European countries.
American Superconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: AMSC), a leading energy technologies company, today announced that it has received an order worth more than $18 million for wind turbine electrical systems and core electrical components from Beijing-based Sinovel Wind Corporation Limited. Under the terms of the contract, AMSC will deliver these products to Sinovel over the next 15 months. The systems and components will be deployed in 3 megawatt (MW) wind turbines that have been developed under a contract initiated with AMSC Windtec, a wholly owned subsidiary of AMSC, approximately one year ago.

AMSC announced more than $3 million in orders for its wind turbine core electrical components and systems from two AMSC Windtec customers: China's CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute ("CSRZELRI") and Canada's AAER, Inc.
AAER Inc., a Canadian manufacturer of wind turbines, purchased licenses from AMSC subsidiary Windtec with the right to manufacture, sell and commission the 2 MW wind turbines not only in North America, but also in France and the United Kingdom.
American Superconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: AMSC), a leading energy technologies company, today announced at the HUSUMwind 2007 trade show in Germany that it has received a follow-on order for approximately $20 million in wind turbine electrical systems from Beijing-based Sinovel Wind Corporation Limited. The order follows a $70 million order received from Sinovel Wind in July 2007 and additional D-VAR orders for grid interconnection of domestic and international wind farms.

Windtec subsidiary of AMSC receives third multi-million dollar contract from a Chinese company. Under the terms of the contract, Windtec will develop a portfolio of 2.5 megawatt (MW) wind energy systems for Dongfang Steam Turbine Works Corporation (DTC) of China. In addition to development work, Windtec will provide project management during assembly and installation of the first prototype.
Wholly owned subsidiary Windtec has received a follow-on order for 150 additional wind energy electrical systems from Beijing-based Sinovel Wind Corporation Limited. The order, worth more than $8 million, is for the 1.5 megawatt (MW) wind energy systems Sinovel is manufacturing and selling in China. AMSC expects to ship all 150 electrical systems in its fiscal year ending March 2008.
